LIMITING LAND TAKE

When running development and improvement projects, we strive to limit the transformation of natural soil. This way, we can reduce rainfall runoff and maintain the soil’s basic functions (carbon storage, rainfall infiltration, and production of food and renewable resources), whilst contributing to the quality of our scenery and biodiversity.

PROTECTING AND REPLANTING

To restore space to nature, we allocate a substantial budget each year to revegetation at all our locations. Since 2022, we have planted more than 20,000 trees and native plants.

USING SOLAR POWER

Because solar energy is clean and inexhaustible and emits no greenhouse gases, we prioritize this form of electricity to run our outdoor lighting.

FACILITATING MORE ECO-FRIENDLY TRAVEL

To reduce our carbon footprint, we have developed partnerships with municipalities to give our holidaymakers access to public transport at some of our locations. For anyone travelling in an electric vehicle, charging stations are provided at our Campsites and Clubs.

Bicycles are a must for sustainable transport, since they emit no greenhouse gases. As a result, the impact on the planet is neutral whenever anyone hops on a bike! For the sake of convenience, MS has bicycles for hire at or near all our locations.

Our teams also take action to reduce our carbon footprint by using electric golf carts and delivery tricycles, and by holding video conferences whenever possible instead of travelling to in-person meetings.

SORTING, REDUCING AND RECYCLING WASTE

Sorting our rubbish every day allows us to recycle it, helps preserve our natural resources, saves energy, prevents the wastage of reusable materials, reduce the quantity of rubbish to be processed and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. So, all our locations’ bin areas include containers our guests can use to easily sort their waste while on holiday. We are also gradually reducing our use of plastic and other single-use products. In line with this goal of reducing our waste, we encourage the use of digital documents instead of paper print-outs (e-catalogue, MS app, travel documents, paperless invoices and receipts, etc.).

REDUCING OUR ENERGY USAGE

To contribute to energy sobriety, we have set up mechanisms to lower our consumption levels: insulated water systems, power shut-offs for hot water tanks, LED lighting, timers, dechlorinators, etc.

USING ORGANIC CLEANING PRODUCTS

Our Accommodation teams use certain organic cleaning products and white vinegar in our holiday rentals, our toilet and shower blocks, our common areas, and so on. Organic cleaning products are much better for the environment, because they contain little to no pollutants and protect the health of our employees.
